PUR cables (polyurethane) and PVC cables (polyvinyl chloride) differ mainly in their material properties and areas of application. PVC cables are versatile, inexpensive, and have good electrical and chemical properties, but are less resistant to UV radiation and mechanical stress. PUR cables are characterized by very high abrasion resistance, flexibility, and resistance to oil, solvents, and UV rays. For this reason, they are often used in demanding industrial environments and in applications involving high mechanical stress. The choice of the right cable depends on the specific requirements of the respective application.

PUR is usually preferred for industrial applications in which cables are exposed to heavy loads. PUR cables offer higher abrasion resistance and flexibility, are highly resistant to oil, chemicals, and UV radiation, and can withstand extreme conditions. PVC cables are well suited for standard applications with lower stress levels and are more cost-effective. However, PUR is recommended as the material of choice for applications with high mechanical stress or in harsh environments. For industrial applications where cables are exposed to heavy loads, PUR is usually preferred. PUR cables offer higher abrasion resistance and flexibility, are highly resistant to oil, chemicals, and UV radiation, and can withstand extreme conditions. PVC cables are well suited for standard applications with lower stress and are more cost-effective. However, for applications with high mechanical stress or in harsh environments, PUR is recommended as the material of choice.

In harsh environments with high mechanical stress, frequent movement, or strong chemical influences, PUR cables have a clear advantage. They are abrasion-resistant, flexible, and resistant to oil, solvents, and UV radiation. PVC cables also offer good chemical resistance, but are less resistant to mechanical stress and UV light. PUR is therefore generally recommended for outdoor areas and demanding industrial applications.

PUR cables offer numerous advantages over PVC cables: they are significantly more flexible, more resistant to abrasion, and more resistant to many chemicals, oils, and UV radiation. In addition, they retain their properties even at low temperatures and in dynamic applications, such as machines that are constantly in motion. PVC cables are less expensive and easier to process, but they can wear out more quickly under heavy use.

PUR cables are generally better suited for outdoor use. They are particularly resistant to UV radiation, weathering, and mechanical abrasion. While PVC cables are sufficient for indoor use and less demanding applications, they can age more quickly and become brittle when used outdoors. Anyone looking for durable, robust cables for outdoor use should therefore opt for PUR cables.

Cable assembly refers to the customized manufacture, processing, and assembly of cables, including cutting, stripping, crimping, connector assembly, and packaging according to specific customer requirements. Here is an overview of the services offered by TKD Kabel GmbH:

  • Cutting – to your desired cable length
  • Stripping – we remove the cable sheathing to the length you require
  • Stripping – the exposed wires are cut to the length you require
  • Crimping – we attach the contact elements you require
  • Plug-and-play solutions – we assemble the connectors you require
  • Packaging and labeling – packaging and labeling of products according to your requirements

Custom cable assembly saves time, reduces storage costs, and minimizes installation errors, as the cables are prepared precisely for their intended application. In addition, our assembled cables undergo a final electrical test. This ensures that you receive cables that function flawlessly.

Mechanical engineering, automotive, agriculture, building technology, and conveyor technology benefit particularly, as these sectors require complex and often customer-specific cable solutions.

The service includes cutting, stripping, crimping, assembly, and packaging, individually tailored to customer projects—from small series to large orders.

This includes the following six process steps:

  • Cutting—to your desired cable length
  • Stripping—we remove the cable sheathing to the length you require
  • Stripping – the exposed wires are cut to your desired length
  • Crimping – we attach the contact elements you require
  • Plug-in solutions – we assemble the connectors you require
  • Packaging and labeling – packaging and labeling of the products according to your requirements

All process steps can be individually combined.
